Three year 11 pupils, who have been following the BTEC L1 Award in Home Cooking Skills over the course of KS4, demonstrated their individual cooking skills this week.

 

They demonstrated the ability to plan, prepare and cook a main course meal as part of their final assessment. They made a range of main meals: meatballs in a ragu sauce served with spaghetti and a green salad; cottage pie served with tenderstem broccoli and gravy; and spaghetti bolognese with a twist of coffee and garlic bread.

 

Examples of food they have previously cooked in lessons, which they have enjoyed sharing both at home and in school with their teachers, are pictured below.

 

All of the pupils should be immensely proud of their achievements with one pupil looking to start a post-16 catering course at the local college.
