Specialist Education

Students at Beverley School are enjoying a new link they have made with East Yorkshire Equine Assisted Therapy.

Equine Therapy is a form of therapy which includes equine activities in an equine environment to promote physical, occupational and emotional growth in people. Equines have the ability to help use learn new skills and become more self-aware.

Whilst there, students assist with the day to day care of the horses and the relationships they build up enable them to show their own feelings through communicating with the horses and writing on them.

Here is a beautiful photo of Beverley School student Tommy, expressing himself through artwork on the horse. Tommy loves attending this facility – and he wrote, “this place makes me feel good."

As an SEMH school that is what what Beverley School aim to do – enable students to feel safe and happy so that they can thrive in all areas of their development.
