Specialist Education

Following the passing of a very much loved and respected Team Leader, Tammy, we spent time this week informing the young people of her passing and organising how we could celebrate her life.

Her key child who she had supported through many difficult situations spent the day celebrating after choosing activities using visual options.

G picked a lovely bunch of flowers to lay at Tammy’s favourite spot when he visited Tarn Hows and went for a walk supported by staff.

They found Tammy’s favourite spot with a wonderful view.

G spoke about his memories of Tammy when on Tammy’s rock, “I loved it when Tammy surprised me for my 1-year anniversary and took me out for a meal”

G then went to the garden centre and picked a plant pot and rose in memory of Tammy to put in a place at school for everyone to see.

Once back at Whinfell G spent time planting the rose bush surrounding by Forget Me Not seeds which were one of Tammy’s favourite flowers.

The plant pot is now situated at the front of the house for everyone to see and think of tammy when coming into the building.

Whinfell have also been gifted from Tammy’s family one of her memorable T-shirts in a lovely frame which we have now displayed in the pool lounge.
