Principal

Rebekah Dennett

Rebekah completed her Teaching Degree in July 2010, graduating from the University of Cumbria.  From 2010 Rebekah has worked in a number of educational settings from mainstream primary schools to local authority funded special school and alternative provisions. 

Rebekah was part of a team who successfully opened a new SEMH provision in Blackburn and supported the school to grow from six pupils to forty.  Whilst at her previous school Rebekah developed her skills and became the Designated Teacher for Children in Our Care and the SENCo, successfully completing the National Award for SENCo’s.  Rebekah then started her career at Cambian in April 2018 at Linton School.  

Rebekah supported the previous Head Teacher to successfully open the school, support the transition of new pupils and prepare the school and staff team for our Ofsted inspection in November 2018.  From there her role as developed, she studied for her NPQH and was successfully awarded that qualification in May 2020 and from September 2020 began the newly appointed Head Teacher of Linton School. 

Rebekah has supported Cambian as an Executive Lead working across a number of provision across the UK and after Linton School gained Outstanding in June 2024 she came to join us here at Brook View.  Rebekah has an extensive knowledge of SEN and is looking forward to the new opportunity.

Deputy Head and SENCO

Zoe Bowers

Zoe qualified as a teacher in 2013 while working in a Mainstream Foundation learning environment. Specialising in assistive and adaptive technology, Zoe believes there is always another way to complete a task. 

Over the past 8 years, Zoe has managed an alternative provision, working with a variety of young people with additional needs, to ensure that they have access to a meaningful education. 

Zoe started her journey with the Cambian group in 2021 working across the North West, supporting the SEMH and Residential services to ensure that no learners are left behind in their educational journey. Zoe has supported the service to develop methods of engagement and strengthen relationships with the professionals around the young people.

More recently, Zoe has taken on a new role as the Deputy Head and SENCO for Brook View School.

Class Teacher

Sally Heesom

Sally completed her BA (hons) in Primary Education with QTS in 1998, graduating from The University of Northumberland. Since graduating, Sally has enjoyed the challenges of daily and long-term supply teaching throughout the North of England in a range of mainstream and SEND schools and has never wanted to settle down until she visited Brook View.

Now, as a member of the Brook View team, Sally loves her role as a class teacher - ensuring that fun is at the heart of learning.

In addition to teaching, Sally loves the outdoors where she is involved with wildlife monitoring and rescue and is often found out on the fells, deep in the woods or down by the stream.  Sally believes that the outdoors is an essential extension to the classroom and that being outside in the fresh air and learning though play and exploration is essential for the health and wellbeing of everyone

Pastoral and Transitions Lead

Mairi Baggs

Mairi is a Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant at Brook View School. 

Mairi has many years’ experience working with vulnerable young people within educational settings covering SEMH, ASD and SLD.  Prior to joining the Cambian Group, Mairi owned her own childminding business which was graded Outstanding by Ofsted.

Mairi has also worked as a Deputy Manager of a nursery school. Mairi has a passion for animal therapy and is keen to develop this at Brook View. Mairi is committed to helping all of the young people at Brook View in order that they can obtain the best opportunities to achieve their goals.

Sammy Morgan

Sammy Morgan is a lead teacher and joined Brook View School in 2021. Sammy leads in English, Food technology, Nurture and Interventions. Sammy previously worked in mainstream schools prior to joining Brook View School.

Sammy believes in a nurturing approach to support the young people at Brook View and is passionate about providing the best opportunities and outcomes for all students.

Yvonne Rigby

Yvonne Rigby is a Lead teacher at Brook view school and joined the team in 2021. Yvonne leads in Science, Forest school as well as PSHE and RSE topics. Yvonne worked in mainstream schools prior to joining the team at Brook view school. 

Yvonne is also a fully qualified Holistic therapist and is passionate about delivering the best opportunities to all young people and is proud to be part of the Brook View team.

Receptionist

Leah Lewis

Leah has achieved top grades in all of her GCSE’s, and then progressed to complete her Agricultural Technical Diploma. Leah has a broad background in many different subjects, from Farming to mechanics. Leah first began completing administrative duties her family Garage, but decided to pursue her love of farming, which she still does on the weekends, and sometimes before and after work!

Leah has had experience in residential care, caring for patients with Alzheimer’s, and working in a SEN primary school as an LSA. Leah has also had experience working in a nursery, helping out with forest school and as a TA in a year 3 class.

Leah first joined us as an agency worker, and settled in really well with the dynamic of our school. She loves her role and meeting new people, while also ensuring our young people are settled and okay. She is always ready to lend a hand when needed, and is very hard-working!
