Southlands School Environment and Facilities

Southlands School offers students a plethora of facilities onsite, providing opportunities for personal and social development, leisure, and networking, all in accessible reach for all students, within the 4 acres and natural environment of the school grounds.

The facilities are designed to meet individual needs, maintain or introduce new hobbies, and keep young people engaged and occupied before and after the school day, and throughout their weekends.

Indoor facilities:

- A large, centrally located Common Room with a pool table, table top games and a movie theatre

- Virtual Reality kits in the Assembly Hall, with access to a large screen suitable for gaming and streaming    media

- Relaxation and therapy rooms for 1-2-1 consultations with Clinical Specialists

- A large library with a broad selection of books and comfortable relaxation areas for reading

- A vibrant student canteen, with freshly cooked, nutritious meals available for students every day

- A spacious sensory room, with play and sensory equipment such as trampolines, bean bags, light exercise equipment and soft furnishings.

Outdoor facilities:

- A large swimming pool, perfect for students to enjoy swimming in, in the warmer months

- A huge football pitch for students who enjoy football and rugby

- A fishing pond and fishing equipment for students to learn about and practice their fishing skills

- Polytunnels and green houses for planting and growing flowers, plants, herbs, fruits and vegetables, and learning about Horticulture.

- A classroom, in the heart of the grounds, for therapy sessions and consultations.

- A gym with safe exercise equipment.

- A large play park with slides, swings and climbing frames.
