With an Outstanding CQC Judgement Cambian Shap Road stands out as one of the best residential care homes of its type in the country. Located in the picturesque town of Kendal it provides exceptional care and support for young adults with Learning Disabilities and or challenges within the autistic spectrum. The home is a registered 4-bedroom house for young adults, who are closely supported to live as independent a life as possible and be a big part of their local community. We aspire for all people within our care to be the best they can be as themselves.

Our group of young adults are very happy, safe and show high levels of respect and kindness towards each other. The care and life experiences that we provide them makes a significantly positive difference to their lives and parents have commented that the exemplary support their children receive has ‘changed their lives and given them hope’.

Cambian Shap Road is constantly working towards reshaping the way in which we support young people into adulthood and seek to prepare them for possible employment, work experience and/or lifelong fulfilment.

Thank you - From Cassie's Family

“Dear Dan and colleagues,

I’m writing to you to express my thanks and appreciation for all you do, day in day out to support Cassie.

Following the meeting we’ve just attended together, it’s clear to see that you all have Cassie’s best interests at heart and that you are true advocates for her. As a family, we are more than happy with the care that Cassie is receiving from you and we hope that she can continue to be placed with you for the foreseeable future. We had had some signals from the social worker that Cassie’s needs might not have warranted residential care funding and as you can imagine, we were anxious at the thought of having to look more towards a supported living model. However, it is apparent that Cassie is in the best place possible for her needs and although her progress since being with you is small…it is still progress.

Please know that we appreciate everything you do - we know it’s not easy, but it makes a huge difference to know that you and your team have Cassie’s best interests at heart”.
