Welcome to Cambian Tyldesley School.  As an independent, DfE-registered, co-educational day school, we proudly provide specialised education for young people aged 11-19 with social, emotional, mental health (SEMH), and communication needs. Our mission is simple: to inspire each student to achieve their best through a sense of “belonging, engaging, and succeeding together.”

At Tyldesley School, we create a safe, nurturing environment where students feel valued and supported. Many of our students have had challenging educational experiences in the past, so we place a strong emphasis on rebuilding confidence and self-esteem. Our goal is to help each student develop a creative and enquiring mind, essential social and emotional skills, and a sense of ambition, so they can reach their academic potential and make positive contributions to society.

Our broad and balanced curriculum integrates all relevant requirements of the National Curriculum and is carefully adapted to each student’s unique needs. We emphasise core subjects and personal development to address any gaps in learning, and we offer a variety of examination pathways, including GCSEs, BTECs, Functional Skills, and Entry Level accredited courses. To monitor progress, we use BKSB for initial and diagnostic assessments alongside regular teacher assessments and standardized testing, providing a clear, supportive framework for academic growth.

Beyond academics, we believe in the importance of enrichment experiences to foster well-rounded development. Students at Tyldesley School engage in diverse learning opportunities both in and outside of school, including educational visits, personal projects, and hands-on experiences through partnerships with external organisations.
