From police car park to kitchen garden

This summer we have begun a project garden, students and staff have transformed our concrete car park into a space that is a pleasure to be in and will provide produce for food tech and hair and beauty and an outdoor learning environment.

Learners from each year group have contributed to the growth of our school garden. They have taken part in chopping down over grown bushes and trees, building structures, lining planters and lugging soil and supplies down the road from B&M and Aldi; all the kids have got involved.

Each class has contributed to the planning and decorating of the garden and has added their own ideas on what they would like it to include, from plants to Zip wires- the sky is the limit!

After 4 weeks we have strawberry plants and tomato plants bearing fruit, sunflowers, peas, carrots, and herbs beginning to sprout.

Watch this space to see what happens next…….
