Specialist Education

The students and staff went on safari at Watatunga Wildlife Reserve, being driven around the reserve and spotting animals along the way.

Watatunga takes part in many conservation initiatives to increase the populations of rare and endangered species.

One of the type of animals the reserve specialises in are birds. The students saw storks, cranes, peacocks, silver peacocks, bustards.

The reserve which consists of 170 acres of habitats such as grasslands, woodlands and lakes, also specialises in deer and antelope.

There are even Water Buffalo but the students didn’t manage to see them this time.

Everyone found it amusing to meet the grumpy bustard.

At the end of the visit the studets looked at several different antler types, some of which were very heavy and some were interesting shapes, they picked their favourites and tried them on for size!
