Specialist Education

Our very own talented Humanities Teacher, Lesley Ravenscroft, took part on one of the most watched British television quiz shows broadcasted on ITV network hosted by Bradley Walsh.

A team of four contestants selected at random individually attempt to accumulate as much money as possible by answering quiz questions correctly. The money is then added to a prize fund, only if the contestant survives their individual chase.

The chaser must attempt to catch each contestant during his or her chase, eliminating that person from the game and preventing the money from being added to the collective prize fund. At the start of the individual chase, the contestant answers questions for 60 seconds; each correct answer is worth £1000. The player must choose between a higher offer (closer to the chaser, less times to get an answer incorrect), their earned money and a lower offer (further away from the chaser, more chances if they get an answer incorrect).

Later, in the final round, contestants who survived their chases play collectively as a team against the chaser for an equal share of the prize fund.

After filming, Lesley was not allowed to tell people what happened before transmission date of 26th September 2024.

Staff and students will be watching eagerly, with popcorn in hand, to find out how Lesley got on!

Lesley quoted “However, it was great fun being on ‘The Chase’ (certainly better than ’Mastermind’) and I got to meet Bradley and The Governess.”

How will Lesley get on? Will Lesley and her team walk away beating the chaser?

Tune in to ITV on 26th September at 17:00pm to find out!
