We are delighted that Beverley School has been rated by Ofsted as "good" and has been praised for its tailored approach towards students with SEMH needs.
The report was published on June 10 following a three-day inspection last month. In praise of the school, which currently has 13 pupils aged between 9- and 16, it said: "New pupils settle quickly into school life and begin learning again. The school develops pupils’ positive attitudes to learning well.
Cambian Beverley School was also praised for the career advice provided to pupils. The report noted: "A range of external providers visit pupils to ensure they are prepared for their next steps into education, training or employment.
In a previous inspection in May 2022, Ofsted said the school was inadequate and highlighted safeguarding concerns. It said: "Staff do not deal effectively with situations when pupils become dysregulated or struggle to control their emotions, however Ofsted now says "pupils behave in a calm and orderly way".
It said there are now procedures in place to check and manage negative behaviour while positive behaviour, such as showing kindness, is rewarded.
We are really proud of the dedication made by Cambian staff at Beverley School.
