Potterspury Lodge School

Our offer is an Educational placement with our Clinical Team in situ to support access to education.   We accept students of both sexes and denominations from ages 8-18.

 

Inclusion Criteria

  • We accept students of both sexes and denominations from ages 8-18 (Key Stages 2 to 5)
  • At point of entry the student must have a primary diagnosis of an Autism Spectrum Disorder as evidenced by a DSM V/ICD 11 diagnostic report from a Clinical Psychologist, Paediatrician or Psychiatrist
  • The student has an Education, Health and Care Plan
  • Able to access the national curriculum
  • Motivation to access the clinical team
  • Motivated to access education
  • Able to work within a primary or secondary model of education in small numbers
  • Has a requirement to attend small classes
  • Access to an ASD friendly environment

 

May also present with:

  • Challenging behaviour
  • History of school placement breakdowns
  • Barriers to learning such as dyslexia and dyspraxia
  • Additional communication and/or sensory needs
  • Behind with age related expectations in terms of academic progress
  • Anxiety
  • Mood disorder such as depression
  • Difficulties with emotional regulation
  • School refusal in a mainstream setting
  • ADHD/OCD/ADD/PDA/Tourette’s Syndrome as a secondary diagnosis
