Specialist Education

Halloween preparations have been in full swing at Southlands School with so many exciting activities happening to celebrate the spooky month!

Students have been busy baking Halloween themed cookies and cakes, picking and carving pumpkins with stencils and carving kits and holding a 'Carve off' to see who could come up with the best designs, decorating the school and Lodge Home with themed decorations including balloon arches and lights, and creating window displays with pumpkins and spider webs.

Alongside the students, staff were also invited to come up with their best Halloween outfits to mark the occasion.

While there were many ghosts and ghoulies and a couple of standout witches, the most impressive was the Pupil Administrator, Holly Jeffrey, as Scooby Doo’s Daphne, with her dog Walter expertly playing the part of the Mystery Machine bus!
