Specialist Education

On Friday 19th July it was a lovely sunny day when Grateley House School held their annual Celebration Day, which is without doubt the highlight of the school calendar.

We always look forward to welcoming families and stakeholders to join us for Celebration Day as this is a fantastic opportunity to recognise and celebrate the progress and achievements of each of our amazing students. We are all able to reflect on their successes whilst acknowledging the challenges they have each bravely faced and overcome along the way. We also said a heartfelt fond farewell to some of our students who are moving on from Grateley House to face the exciting challenge of their next steps into the future ahead.

The day started at 10:30am with those attending having the opportunity to have some light refreshments before being able to browse the summer fete which had items for sale which the students had made in Art, Design Technology and Food Technology.

The students work was also on display in the assembly hall for parents to peruse, with a photo presentation which captured some of the memorable enriching activities that they had participated in over the course of the academic year.

At 11am the awards ceremony commenced. The marquee had been decorated with a selection of the students art work and the table was adorned with an array of shields and trophy’s ready to be presented to a well deserving recipient.

At Grateley House School we feel privileged and proud to be able support our students on their individual journey’s during their time with us.

Last year a student commented, “I like this school as we are all different and we are allowed to be”.

This statement means so much, reflecting what we want the school to be, an inclusive culture and environment where our students feel emotionally secure and content to develop and thrive and just ‘be’.
