A ‘Blooming marvellous’ Halloween at GHS
Our two residential homes, Monxton and Amport, were in fierce competition during the first half term to grow the biggest and most ‘spooktacular’ pumpkins.
Monxton made an impressive start, taking an early lead and maximising on their advantage of having a south facing garden. Their pumpkin patch was definitely shaping up nicely!

However, Amport house were not quite as lucky due to their garden being positioned so that it did not get as much sunshine. The friendly rivalry between the two houses was palpable…
When the time eventually came for each of the houses to harvest their crops, they certainly did not disappoint!

It was fair to say that Monxton house were the clear winners with their bumper pumpkin harvest!
They supplied the Food Tech room with pumpkins to carve, before turning their hand to creating a Pumpkin cake which was a delicious culinary delight enjoyed by all.
