Access Arrangements Statement
Access arrangements are agreed before any assessment and allow students with specific learning difficulties to access an assessment without affecting its integrity.
The most frequently provided entitlements are for readers/scribes/extra time/word processors. As facilitators for students in exams, readers and scribes are required to follow strict guidelines.
Our students are assessed through careful reading of their EHCPs and medical documentation and evidence of their normal way of working in the classroom. The access arrangements applied for are regularly monitored during classes, internal assessments and external examination to ensure that they remain appropriate.
The college is inspected annually and must produce evidence of need, together with approval documentation. The college is not in a position to grant access arrangements without adhering to the strict guidelines set out by JCQ.
If you have any questions about access arrangements at Cambian Wing College, please do not hesitate to contact our Examinations Officer, Tracey Costello on the contact details listed on the website.
