Meet the Team at Dunbroch School
Head Teacher
Karen Carrington
Nine years ago, I started at Cambian, progressing from Pastoral Manager to Headteacher, after many years spent holding various different roles within educational settings.
I have a desire to see every student able to follow their dreams, and believe that a bespoke education, which engages the interests, aptitudes and abilities of the individual, combined with outstanding pastoral care, is the best way to help our young people achieve this.
Art Instructor/Teaching Assistant and Cleaner
Martha Lavery
My name is Martha and I am an Art Instructor/Teaching Assistant at Dunbroch School. I came to Dunbroch after finishing a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Fine Art at De Montfort University; specialising in printmaking for two years. My skills are diverse when it comes to mediums and surfaces and I enjoy sculpture, painting and drawing too. I found a deep passion for printmaking and focused my final project on the subject. I am always searching for new discoveries to expand my learning with the Fine Arts. I thrive within all areas to contemporary art and the processes to creating. I exhibit my work in art galleries regularly and currently exhibiting in the ‘Artefacts Live’ Exhibition in the Leicester Museum. Martha also supports the school with cleaning.

Teaching Assistant
Rosie Miller
I joined Dunbroch school in September 2024 as a Teaching Assistant. I have a real passion for working with children and helping them to develop and grow, I have been working with children for 15 years in Early Years settings and am very excited to begin my new adventure with older children and young adults.
English Teacher
Keith Mclean
I have been teaching now for thirty years, both at home and abroad, in every type of school imaginable – state, grammar, private, International – in York, Cambridge, Paignton (on what is fancifully called ‘The English Riviera’), Italy, Singapore, Egypt and Ecuador. The course I’m most experience in teaching is the IB, but I have also taught GCSE and A level.
And now the road has brought me by hook or by crook to Cambian Dunbroch to teach in another utterly new, exotic and foreign environment. I think of life as an adventure and even at this late stage of the game I’m ready for a new challenge. Which is exactly what I’ve found here at this marvellous small school serving the deep needs of children with every disadvantage that life can throw at anyone. I hope I can make a contribution to their lives and futures.
