Southlands Primary Department enjoyed a workship from the Welsh National Opera, who came into the school and taught them a special opera song. The next day, they then took a trip to the Welsh National Opera concert, held locally, where the speaker explained each part of the orchestra and the themes behind the songs. Primary learned how music can create a picture for the listener, or even emotions. The opera singers gave demonstrations and Primary joined in with the song they had learnt at the workshop. At the end, everybody had a really good dance!
The whole experience was amazing, particularly how well the young people coped with such a busy and noisy environment. They really enjoyed themselves!
