On the 11th to 13th March three pupils from Scarborough school took part in and completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh qualifying expedition, with one fulfilling his Silver practice expedition.
The activity involved a day of planning and preparing route cards and equipment, including food and tenting. On the 12th of March the pupils set of from Cloughton, just outside of Scarborough, on their walking expedition to Robin Hoods Bay near Whitby. Along the way they were met by the assessors and despite the windy conditions, they were full of confidence and really enjoyed the beautiful scenery. They camped overnight at Robin Hoods Bay and set off the following morning to complete the expedition.
The pupils worked very well together and were happy to have completed the expedition element of the Duke of Edinburgh award.
