This term two of our Year 9 students have been taking part in completing weekly voluntary sessions at St Cecelia’s Day Centre as part of their DofE Bronze Award qualification.
The Day Centre gives people, many of whom have Dementia, the opportunities to meet friends, try out therapeutic activities and enjoy nutritious food and refreshments.
The two students have taken an active part in helping the clients with playing Bingo and they have volunteered to be the Bingo caller as well as helping out with arts and craft activities. In the new school year both students will be completing the physical, skills and expedition criteria towards gaining the award.
