One of our wonderful young people Lucas, is completing work experience as a volunteer Porter at Swanage Railway in Dorset. He has lots of exciting tasks which he is carrying out excellently.
As part of his role, Lucas directs passengers on where to stand on the platform depending on which carriage they prefer to sit in for their journey, whilst also informing them of the locomotives’ arrival and departure times. He also talks to passengers, directing them to the Railway Shop, café and to the available facilities.
All staff who work at the Railway think that Lucas is doing an excellent job and is always smiling whilst there. As a treat at the end of his shift he is allowed to catch the steam locomotive from Swanage to Norden or Corfe Castle Station which Lucas thoroughly enjoys.
Well done Lucas! You are doing an amazing job!
