We are always so happy to receive wonderful updates on our young people who have left our colleges and entered the next phase in their lives.
Jeremy* came to Cambian Wing College in September 2013, and used to experience high levels of anxiety and had communication difficulties. By working with staff who he felt comfortable with, he responded very positively to the programme they provided and he was able to develop skills to help him cope with anxiety.
Whilst at Cambian Wing College, Jeremy was very hard working and had a real enthusiasm for learning. He attended a full curriculum at the college and was always very reliable and helpful, encouraging others with class work.
Outside of college, he had an interest in Formula One racing and said that he had a strong interest in developing his vocational skills. Therefore, with the support from staff at Cambian Wing College, Jeremy successfully completed a Level 1 Diploma in Carpentry & Joinery at Bournemouth and Poole College.
Keen to carry on with his love for learning, Jeremy also passed Functional Skills English at Level 1 and Function Skills Maths at Level 2. Moreover, it did not just stop there! During his time at Cambian Wing College, Jeremy was keen to develop work related learning skills and completed a number of successful work placements, one even requesting him to return anytime he wanted!
Jeremy left us at the end of 2016, and we are pleased to report that he now has a great job in the volunteering sector.
