‘Live young, drive fast’ this is the approach Cambian school Hartlepool students took on their visit to TeamSport Karting in Stockton. An end of term activity for all students due to excellent behaviour was welcomed with open arms, with the students ready to fulfil their need for driving fast (but in little cars).
All drivers fitted for kit and given their overalls, although we weren’t sure if one student was dressing as a ninja or getting ready to race. Don’t worry we thought you looked cool.
Overalls on, helmets picked, fastened and ready…. Only one thing left to do and that was get in your selected cart and get comfortable ready for the green light.
Pop band? ... Group of students ready to race? ... We will let you decide!
‘Lights out and away we go’…. Oh hang on … maybe not for one! Few technical issues and we had lost a racer. Not to worry though, he still managed to enjoy a nice milkshake while everyone got ready to burn some rubber on the track.
Well back to the race track we go… AGAIN… Students set and ready, in grid formation… RED… AMBER… GREEN….. They’re off.
Little did we know the Ninja we saw earlier would transfer these ninja skills to the track, cutting in and out of the other racers and taking poll position, not only one race but two! Like watching a young Max Verstappen! Well Done! Let’s see if you can retain that crown next time!
