Assessment Day – Pengwern College
Tuesday 1st March Pengwern College held their first face to face assessment day for some of the new students for September 2022. Eleven excited young people came to the college to see what we offer. They were supported by staff from their school and Pengwern staff offering us the opportunity to get to know our new students for September.
It was so lovely to see their excitement in coming into college for the first time, understandably some nervousness but lots of excited faces.
They had the opportunity to participate in education sessions during the day, these included Art & Craft, St David’s Day activity, Sensory Art, Sensory Music, Horticulture and Cooking.
The feedback from parents was positive “they can’t wait to hear if their application will be successful, they’re so excited”, and student comment included “I’m really excited to be an adult and can’t wait to make new friends”.
During the day the students met different tutors, some of our support staff and our clinical team. Everyone has commented what a lovely day it was and how wonderful it was to see things getting back to something like normality following the very challenging last two years.
