Trip to Hinkley Point Nuclear Power Station
Three Year 10 students visited Hinkley Point Nuclear Power Station as part of their GCSE Science work on Nuclear Chemistry.
They really enjoyed the hands-on displays operated by EDF Energy, about the Nuclear Power Station in North Somerset. They saw how Nuclear Power fits in with the whole Country’s Energy demand and provision.
They were amazed by the sheer scale of the Power Station and the necessary construction currently taking place for the replacement one, including a giant tunnel-excavator under the Bristol Channel, which the boys were shocked to see will just be left, for ever, under the sea!
