This week our Year 9 and 10 students went on a trip to Bodmin Jail.
Our Year 9 students have been studying prison reforms in the Georgian and Victorian eras as part of their ‘Conflict and Change’ topic.
Our Year 10 students have been studying classic Georgian novels this term such as Pride and Prejudice and looking at how these link with the role of women in society. Earlier in the year, they studied Victorian novels and completed an in-depth study in to Charles Dickens’ works.
The visit to Bodmin Jail brought these topics to life and gave students the opportunity to experience the differences from these eras in person.
