At Devon School we have been busy celebrating the festive season. Staff and students started the season with Christmas Jumper Day, raising money for Save the Children. Students got involved with decorating the school and putting up the Christmas tree.
At Project Compass, Students made traditional festive foods such as mince pies in their Catering lessons and had the opportunity to forage for natural materials to make their own Christmas Wreath to take home. We ended the term with our whole school Christmas lunch where we celebrated all together.
In student voice, students asked if they could arrange a secret Santa this year so that they had the opportunity to buy each other a gift. Students worked with their key workers to think of each other’s interests and buy a present that the other person would really like. These gifts were exchanged during our Christmas Dinner and we were really impressed with how kind and thoughtful our students had all been when choosing their gifts.
