As part of the students activity week, Grateley House arranged a whole school chess tournament. Chess is one of the oldest strategy games in the world and is commonly known to assist with the brains visual memory, cognitive skills and boosting concentration when played regularly.
Learning during friendly matches has also been recognised to improve self confidence and teach the students that not every game can be won. Everyone that took part thoroughly enjoyed themselves and this proved to be a fantastic way of bringing the students together for some healthy competition, whilst sparking creativity and learning a new skill.
Well done to all who got involved in the tournament!
