On 18th October, we announced the completion of the acquisition of Cambian by CareTech. This represents an exciting, new chapter for Cambian as, together with CareTech, we become one of the leading providers of social care services to both adults and children in the UK.
The completion of this acquisition brings together two highly complementary service offerings and areas of geographical focus. We can now provide integrated care pathways nationwide, while also better servicing local authority partners and continuing to deliver strong user outcomes.
CareTech has announced that it will retain the Cambian brand and Anne Marie Carrie, currently Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Cambian Group, will join the senior management team as COO of the Cambian operations within the enlarged CareTech Group.
The management team is committed to maintaining the wellbeing and safety of the children and young adults in our care and are confident that, through the complementary skills and expertise of the enlarged CareTech Group, the teams can integrate the two businesses with minimal disruption.
The transaction is still subject to approval from the Competition & Markets Authority (CMA). While we do not anticipate any issues relating to this, Cambian, under the leadership of Anne Marie Carrie will remain as a standalone business within the enlarged group until the CMA has completed its review.
