Cambian Beverley School have been keeping rather busy with all sorts of events recently and hosted their own army themed day.
The school was very lucky to have guest speakers Corporal Scott and Sergeant Grant, wearing the terrain camouflage of the British Army spent a morning at Beverley School putting the young people and staff through a range of activities.
The two soldiers talked about their wealth of experience in dangerous places. The pupils embarked on a command task where they had to battle their wits and knowledge to formulate a plan, in order to move 5 numbered tyres from one end of the yard to the other within specific constraints and parameters.
This was followed by a presentation about the wide range of careers available with the British Army. Two pupils have already expressed a strong interest in pursuing a career in the armed forces as a result of the visit.
The morning finished with a drill session and through commands of “left, right…..” and the entire school marched around the playground.
